Hi,
sorry if this is a stupid question, but does anyone have a good fingering for the C#7 in the 5th mvt of Kurtag's Hommage a R. Schumann trio (clarinet, viola, piano)
It's to be reached from a D6, and I can't for the life of me find a reliable fingering for it!
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
Sacha

What a great piece! I've had good luck there with:
G# O X X | X O X Eb
RK X

I don't know the specific passage, but have you tried:
TR + A key o o o (+ 2 lower right side keys / x o o (Eb)
...GBK

My most reliable is:
TR o o x o o x eb/ab
it's an easy change from the D as well

The standard C7 fingering plus the bottom 3 trill keys works for me.

Thanks everyone
The fingering from Alexis seems to work the best for me in this case. It's still a huge pain in the ass though

Glad it works. Try puffing your cheeks out a little for the C sharp it might speak easier.

Not a stupid question at all! C#7 is a note most of us don't see every day, or maybe not even every year. Some fingering charts don't go that high either.

I second Peter Cigleris' fingering. Works every day, on every reed.
