The Garden of My Father's House

Does anybody have a recording/score of this piece or know where to find it online? Looking for a violin/clarinet duet to play with my friend.

Amazon.com lists it on a (used) recording of Kupferman's music. At least one of the two recordings shown is an LP. Luybenmusic.com shows the sheet music in their catalog. If they don't have it, try:

http://www.subitomusic.com

They distribute Soundspells Production's music. Soundspells is Meyer Kupferman's publisher. Subito show the work in print and probably has it in stock.

Best regards,
jnk

Thanks Jack. Does anybody have a free online recording? I don't really want to commit to buying it before I have a listen.

Alternatively, if anybody else knows any works for the violin-clarinet ensemble, I would love to hear those. I only know of Hindemith's duet, and the one from the milhaud trio.

Kupferman's "Garden..." is a great piece, and not that hard to put together IIRC. Also, "Awake, Thou Wintry Earth" by William Schuman is also a good pice for this duo. Adolf Busch wrote two works called "Hausmusik", Op. 26, published by Breitkopf - more Romantic sounding than Schuman or Kupferman.

If you are looking for classical-era vln/cl duos:
Georg Friedrich Fuchs (1752-1821) 3 Duos Op. 14 (ca.1799)
Etienne François Gebauer (1777-1823) Duo Concertant in C minor Op. 16 No. 3
FJ Haydn 3 Sonatas for violin and viola (vla part transcribed for cl)

If your violinist plays viola:
Ignaz Pleyel (1757-1831) Sonata No. 1 in Eb Op. 21 arr P.E. Solère

Thanks for all the suggestions, but I can't seem to find recordings online for any of these, and I am hesitant to buy sheet music without hearing it. Does anybody know a good place to listen to these pieces?

Thanks.

I don't know if YouTube counts as a "good" place to listen to music, but you can't beat the price.
