I don't know about it. Can you provide a picture or a link?

Not much different in concept to the four spot plate which comes with the Van Doren Optimum ligature.

okay so I tried it.
My Luyben broke so I ordered a new one along with a couple others to try something new.
all of them work well, but the cheap luyben works a little better. The Equa-Tone sounds just a bit too dull, the Scott sounds a bit too bright. The luyben - seems to still be the perfect one for me. But it was worth a try.

A little off topic, but do the Lomax Elite Model ligatures work well? I have a BG Revelation right now, but the colors are really attractive, if they actually play...

I too have a hard time with ligatures that dig into the bark of the reed. Maybe it's an old reed maker's bias, but I don't like the bark end of a reed distorted or "dug into".
I've tried many, many ligatures and my favorite so far is the Rovner "Eddie Daniels" model. Does anyone know if it is still made?

The new versa x rovner is really nice. I'm using it with cane reeds. When I use the legere reeds, I'm using rovner star series ligature in the non inverted set up. When the stars are lined up the humidity is just right the vandoren classic woven works great with cane reeds I find it just doesn't work with Legere. I have 2 of the Bob scott ligatures and they do mark the bark but sound pretty good, but I pretty much stick to the Rovners for most of my playing.

I did a "blind" test with my teacher - she liked the Scott the best. But I didnt feel like I had as much control with it.
She told me to look into the BG - Super Revolation.....
any thoughts on this one???

I have used the BG Super Revelation off and on for a couple of years. For me it gives a centered tone quality and projects well. Maybe a little brighter than other non-metallic ligatures I have tried.
