Are there any editions of these that are in the public domain? I'd like to write my music history term paper on these, specifically the clarinet writing, but my university's music library doesn't have a copy and I can't afford to buy one solely for this assignment. I've looked everywhere I can think of, but I can't find it online, so this is probably a long shot but any leads would be appreciated!

Your school probably has a subscription to worldcat, and could borrow the score from another school. If you go to your school's library page, and look for something akin to research databases, you should be able to find it there.
Also check in the reference section of the library, and you might have the collected works for Vivaldi. (Usually Ref. M3 .... something, but don't quote me on it, I'm at home right now, and didn't look last night while at work in the library!).
If you need help, contact me off the board, and I'll try to guide you through it.

FYI, Albert Rice discusses these works in his book, "The Baroque Clarinet." If you Google "vivaldi rv 559" without the quotes you should get a link headed, "The Baroque Clarinet - Google Books Result." (It was on the second page of results in my search.) The link will take you to the pages in the book that discuss these works. According to Rice, BTW, the range of the 1st clarinet in each of the two works is "g to c'''."

http://Worldcat.org is available to anyone, not just librarians. Do an
Advanced Search, specifying the Format as Musical Score and Keyword RV 559.
Then go through the results; if you specify your location, libraries nearest you will sort first. As suggested, your library can initiate an Interlibrary Loan.

I own scores of the Ricordi editions of both of these, and can confirm that the ranges of both solo instruments are G3 to C6 in both pieces.
Roughly what are you trying to find out for your paper? What sorts of things do you plan to discuss? Given the limits of this BB setup, what can I tell you about these works that would be helpful?
If one were to buy parts for either of these, I'd recommed 559 (which I own). The clarinets are more nearly equal partners with the oboes, whereas in 560 the clarinets are more subordinate.
