Hey i was looking to buy the Bliss 320 clarinet and i was wondering about the good and bad things about this clarinet. I am currently a freshman and looking to stay in band for the next 3 years, so i also wanted to upgrade to a better clarinet.

Are you a freshman in college or high school? My answer would vary depending on your skill level.

Seems like a good choice. You may wish to also consider a Buffet. Both of the horns play pretty well and the key work is also decent on both horns. See which ones feel the best for you.

I prefer the Bliss models, not only is the 320 (and entire series in general) a decent instrument for your skill level, but it will most likely be satisfactory for many years to come. I play a bliss 210 (the all wood instrument) and love it, I haven't played a 320 yet but I've heard mainly good things about it.
See if you can find a way to "test drive" a few clarinets (bliss models, etc) and get a feel for them. Keep in mind mouthpieces make a huge difference to how they "feel" but you can get a pretty good picture.
I noticed the Bliss 210 seems to be quite heavy. I need a neck strap with it. I don't know if the 320 is the same given the fact that it's plastic. Good luck!

I've played a Bliss 320 with my own mouthpiece for just a few minutes in a noisy demonstration room at ClariNexus at Eastern Washington University.
The keywork is beautiful (the black nickle), felt good and is quiet -- a good sign.
The instrument was very responsive and seemed to sound good.
I could not judge its intonation.
If they made this thing in the key of A, I'd be very interested as a way to complement my Buffet RC.

Also, I forgot to mention I read somewhere (I can not remember who or where) that one person whom had the opportunity to play all three of the bliss models actually preferred the all plastic model to the all wood one.
The intonation on my 210 is flawless (either mine was made just right or it's just a great line of instruments) apart from being just a tiny, tiny, tiny bit flat in the throat register. But that's easy enough to correct. Nothing that noticeable.
I must say that of most plastic clarinets you'll probably have the best luck with the 320 - but I'm just speaking from minimal experiences with the line.
