Has anyone had any experience with these cases? Particularly the low C bass clarinet +/- the double clarinet case? I like the look of them online but have nowhere nearby to see one in person

I agree with you, they look like AMAZING cases! Although I do not have experience with this case, I have a double trekking case, and I have to say that it is better than all the pictures lead me to believe. Bam is an amazing company, they charge a lot, but boy are they worth it!

Hey,
When I bought my first BAM case, I did it from online because there was no place near to go see one either. I took a chance and it was worth it.
I an not affiliated with BAM in any way, but would recommend their cases highly! I use the trekking case for my low C bass and would never use anything else. It is a lot of money, but well worth it. As for the hightech which your link shows I don't know, but do tell if you get one!

The older models of the Bam Trekking double cases about 10 years ago were not good. The material came pretty quickly unglued(after about 2-3 years) and the zipper broke also soon down. And the material on the handle wore very quickly. I was like for over a year constantly repairing the zipper with pliers like once in a week or so and finally couple of tooth break. They say on their website that if this happens then the whole cover has to be changed but my teacher got a case repairing shop to change the whole zipper on his case without new cover so this isn't the case. Mine was just so worn out after about 7 years of use that I just got me a new one and it's holding up much better. This is also the case of several other clarinetists I know and had the earlier models too. The new ones are holding up much better.

I have a new low-Eb bass clarinet BAM case and so far, I'm really happy with it, although it's barely out of the break-in period so to speak. I bought it in spite of reports like Ice's, about older versions having crappy materials & zippers breaking and stuff like that. The one time I've been out of the house with it, schlepping it up and down stairs and on subways & such, it was a breeze--you could hardly tell it had a horn inside, it was so light.
As to ruggedness and durability, too soon to tell. I did save the original packing box, just in case (no pun intended).

I have to second what ICE said. I had one from 2003 and all of the zippers failed in some way (some worse than others). This is regarding the Bb\A double trekking.
I have heard generally good things about the bass cases though, and that they are a step way up from the stock 1193-2 cases.
For Bb\A (and Eb), I use the Marcus Bonna and will never look back. Unless Marcus puts out a better one. The marcus bonna will also fit in the outside pocket of the BAM Bass case (so you could have a quad case if you combined the two).
BAM has definitely upped their game as far as quality and prices go. I'm rather under-impressed when it comes to creating a more comfortable design for the double trekking that is a bit more efficient. It does seem like there's room for improvement...
I would say for bass, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better case than the hightech BAM. The only real contender would be the Wiseman, for double the price.

I checked out the BAM Hightech today at a local music store and liked it very much! I personally liked the design more than the Wiseman, which seems a little cramped for space, and not as well padded on the straps or the section that touches a person's back. The only things I wished were different with the BAM were having a little more padding on the straps (I feel this is needed in most cases), and having a waist belt which could put much of the weight on the hips (like a camping backpack). The last thing which would be great is some type of extending handle and wheels to roll the case on the floor, like a suitcase.

Great to hear that the case looked good in person Benjamin, do you remember how the case closed? i.e. is it just a single latch or is there a zip or something that runs around the edge? I emailed BAM with a couple of questions but received no reply
