Trios with Strings

Hi.

My string trio wants to perform some rep with me on wind instruments, so we're trying to find some more pieces (that aren't too terribly difficult) for Clarinet (or Oboe, Flute, Bassoon or even Sax), Viola and Cello. We're currently working on the trio by Emil Herold, and arranging the Violin part of Bertold Hummel's Capriccio for Clarinet. Any ideas?

Double reed and violin professor! I'm impressed.

There are 3 trios by Hyden- for Clarinet D'amore (A), violin and cello. Not very difficult and very good music.

A good piece for this combination (cl, viola and cello) is
the trio by Anton Polzelli, who is suspected of being
a son Haydn had with an Italian soprano by the name of Polzelli.
Speaking of Haydn, I just played the three Haydn trios mentioned
by Sarah above (for cl, violin and cello). They are indeed for clarinet d'amore but in Bb, not A. They can be played on regular Bb. Also they are now considered to have been written by someone other than Haydn. If you play them you will see why. They are not strong nor coherent works, but might be somewhat charming in a concert of light music.

Isn't there a Beethoven Trio for Flute, Viola, and Cello?

The Beethoven is actually Flute, Violin Viola. I'll look into the Hadyn/Polzelli! Keep throwing ideas if you have them. Thanks!

Two more classical-era pieces for your combination of clarinet, viola and cello came to mind:
Johann Nepomuk Fuchs' Trio in D major (therefore for A clarinet)
and Rodolphe Kreutzer's Trio in F major (therefore for Bb clarinet)
