It sounds like some funky Italian word, so I say it like "gren-uh-dee-uh". "Gren-uh-dil-luh" sounds funny yet dumb to me.
The dictionary states otherwise.

I suspect your pronunciation is more correct, with the two ll's sounding like a "Y".
Dictionaries have thrown in the towel, opting for the most commonly used pronunciation as most 'correct'. Languages change over time, guess we'll have to roll with the punches.
