Grenadilla
It sounds like some funky Italian word, so I say it like "gren-uh-dee-uh". "Gren-uh-dil-luh" sounds funny yet dumb to me.
The dictionary states otherwise.
gren·a·dil·la
/ˌgrɛnəˈdɪlə/ [gren-uh-dil-uh]
How exactly do you personally pronounce it?

I suspect your pronunciation is more correct, with the two ll's sounding like a "Y".
Dictionaries have thrown in the towel, opting for the most commonly used pronunciation as most 'correct'. Languages change over time, guess we'll have to roll with the punches.

I think Backun is pronounced Bah-koon' (though would instinctively pronounce it as Back'-un).

Morrie pronounces his name like the first pronunciation Chris P listed above. I have spoken with him on the phone, so I'm pretty sure he knows how to say his own last name!

How do you pronounce Tosca?
Is it Tosca with o sound like the o in tOAster, or Tosca with o like the o in Omlettes

Tosca with a short 'o', rather like 'Omelette'.
