Hi there,
i'm planning to be in NY the next week and I also need to buy an A Clarinet asap.
Can someone please tell me where are the good places to look for a Buffet A Clarinet (like a R13, Vintage or Prestige) in the big apple?
Some used instrument stores would be also appreciated.
Thanx a lot

Two other possibilities:
The Buffet showroom is at 160 W. 48th St. (646) 670-6565. in Manhattan.
Kristin Bertrand, an expert in woodwind repair, is the person to call.
I don't believe they sell directly there, but you can play-test instruments and, I believe, make arrangements to buy. Best to call.
Also, outside the city, Frederic H Weiner Inc
168 Jericho Tpke in Mineola, in Nassau County.
The Web site is www.shop.weinermusic.com.
edited to correct Buffet showroom phone number.

I just noticed that there's a fresh ad for a used R13 A in the classifieds here. The seller is in New York State.

Kristin's number is actually (646) 670-6565.
She is usually at the showroom three days a week and other times by appointment. I strongly recommend you contact her for a time to come by the showroom (as opposed to just dropping in).
If you do find an "A" clarinet you like at our showroom, you can purchase it through any of our authorized Buffet Crampon dealers (a dealer will quote you a price; you choose who to buy the clarinet through after that).
Please contact me directly if I may answer any additional questions or help out in any way. Good luck with your search!

Matt,
I've just corrected my earlier post re: Kristin's phone number.
Apologies for the sloppy error, and thanks for catching it.
Question: Does Buffet have a separate Internet listing for its Manhattan showroom that explains what you explained in your post. I know of it only because Kristin moved her workshop to that address. Any reason you're keeping your light under a bushel?
