Very interesting... i looked through the other instruments on offer and had a crazy idea....
ok- the full Oehler system clarinets have the low F/E vent mechanism, either operated by a thumb key or hooked up to the register key. This mechanism automatically switches from a vent on the lower joint for the low F, to a vent on the bell for the low E.
So, I am aware of course of the various vents available on Boehm clarinets (Selmer Recital, Buffet Tosca come to mind) but to my knowledge none of these have the E/F exchange....
- has anyone ever seen a Boehm Clarinet with this feature?
- has anyone ever tried to put the keys from an Oehler clarinet onto the bottom joint of a Boehm? (probably not i imagine)
