As GBK says, you could read the Buffet site, but prepare to be confused if you do.
It reads:
"In 2003, Boosey & Hawkes separated from the cream of the crop in French wind instrument manufacturing, to join The Music Group".
What actually happened was:
"In 2003, Boosey & Hawkes separated from the cream of the crop in French wind instrument manufacturing [i.e. Buffet], which became part of The Music Group".
Not the same thing at all. Perhaps they should have skipped the flowery language and written it in plain English.
You might find the Wikipedia article more helpful:

"Perhaps they should have skipped the flowery language and written it in plain English."
The "flowery language" being their native tongue? What they actually wrote was:
En 1981, BUFFET CRAMPON est racheté par le célèbre groupe d’éditions musicales Boosey & Hawkes de Londres, dont l’origine remonte à 1760. Un réseau de distribution organisé au sein des filiales du Groupe permet à Buffet Crampon de se développer dans le monde entier.
Probably gave it to some Englishman to translate.
Best regards,
jnk
Janlynn, if you want to read about the various Buffet models over time, try the search function on this BB. There's been considerable discussion on the topic here.

Jack:
1. The passage you quote in French doesn't correspond to the English I quoted. The dates alone should make that obvious.
2. Maybe they did give it to an Englishman to translate. Shame they didn't then ask another Englishman to check that the result was actually correct.

Touché!
I did indeed quote the wrong paragraph. The one I should have quoted was:
"En 2003 toujours, Boosey & Hawkes se sépare du fleuron de la manufacture française des instruments à vent au profit de The Music Group..."
The error is in the translation, however, not the original text and I still think it a bit presumptuous to suggest that they should write in plain English. I will concede, though, that perhaps they should have skipped the flowery language and written in plain French.

"Probably gave it to some Englishman to translate."
Or used an online translator:
"In 1981, the CRAMP of PLANER is repurchased by the & musical celebrates of Boosey of company d' edition; Hawkes of London, of which l' origin turns over to 1760. A distribution network organized within of subsidiary company of the group makes him the possible cramp of dresser to develop in the whole world."

i think the orig poster was looking for a evolution of the different model of buffet clarinets.
such as
Plastic Evette became the B12
Wooden Evette became the E11
Evette Master Model became the E12
