i honestly don't see why you need to spend $500 on a kit when all i honestly use are

needle nose plyers
screw driver
lighter
spring hook
spring bender
rags
Needle pointer
Cost: $40

Other accessories
Pads. ($20)
Amber shellac (can be picked up from home depot)
Wd-40 for stuck parts

that's prettty much it.
