Just curious, anyone going through a season of realllly hard vandorens? I can't seem to get but maybe 1 out of each box that is actually "soft" or comes close to soft. Not sure what to do with them, but anyone else experiencing this issue? I'm not sure how reeds change according to the season, but I would be curious to know how everyone is doing, "reed wise".

Well, I'm a student, but as far as I can tell my V12s are pretty normal. But then, you may be talking about the regular blue boxes.

I'm having reed frustrations.
I think it's linked to the change in seasons here (NYC) - from relatively moist autumn to drier winter (including dry heat in the house).
It's a normal thing, part of the life I've chosen for myself.
I bought a couple of new boxes of v12s - bigger box, new wrapping, same individual plastic reed holders. Maybe that'll do the trick, but you'd think Vandoren would have to comply with some EU environment regime/climate change/carbon reduction regulation to reduce it's packaging waste. Instead, each year Vandoren seems to increase its carbon footprint.
