Grab these 2 downloads while you can.
They contain important pages from:
Galanta Dances
Bartok Concerto for Orchestra
Miraculous Mandarin
Pines of Rome
Shostakovitch 1 and 9
Petrouchka (revised)
Students (both mine and others) constantly ask me for these parts that are currently posted on the CSO site. They are not in the public domain to my knowledge and therefore not in the excerpt books.
I don't know how they can put the parts on the internet. Maybe copyright has expired.
Whatever the case, grab them before one of the publishers insist they be taken down (as Universal Edition does when their material (even public domain) shows up on various sheet music sites).

Thanks for sharing- this is a terrific find for many of us who aren't exactly ready for the CSO and wouldn't have stumbled upon this otherwise.
By the way, I went to the CSO concert on Friday and got to hear Larry Combs play. One of his last I guess! It was a terrific concert- The principal oboist played the Mozart concerto- AMAZING...
Thanks again for he post,
Tara

I'm still waiting for my International Edition excerpt books to come in.
This find on the CSO website will do just fine until mine come in. Also, another great source of sight reading material in addition to the etudes and repertoire that I will practice over the holiday break!
Thanks for the find. I'm going to assume that the CSO got some type of permission to post these up though. With an high profile ensemble like this, you can be sure the "copyright police" would check such a site frequently.

It will only be up for a few more days as the audition is mid January. So get it while you can. Too late to sign up for the audition (obviously).
Really wonder who will get the gig! Auditions this big come up only a couple of times in a generation.

I've always held musicians who could hold a chair in a professional orchestra in high esteem…....after looking these excerpts over, I'm in awe!
