Has anyone on the BBoard tried the Ripamonti instruments? Their prices look very good although it's hard to tell much detail from their website and the photos are quite tiny.
Anyone know anything?

I have two Ripamonti clarinets, an Eb (sopranino) and an Ab (piccolo). The eefer is full boehm, the Ab is almost-full boehm (no low Eb).
The keys on the Eb are a bit sketchy, they have a sort of homemade look and feel, but it plays very well, with good intonation. The Ab is so far out of tune with itself that it is unplayable.

Molly,
Thanks for your response. Yeah I was looking at the Ab as my experience with a LeBlanc Ab was not good. It was so out of tune in most of its range that it was unusable. I only used it in public once though in Shostakovich Five when the Eb and the piccolo have a descending scale together from concert high Bb down. Even recordings with great orchestras have murdered this particular passage. Anyway transposing those notes on the Ab made a big difference as those particular notes were good on the Ab.
Again thanks for your comments!
