Not that I'm aware of, though here's the score:

Definitely no bass clarinet. I played 2nd clarinet on it last year, no bass.

If Mahler got hold of the score, I wouldn't be surprised if he added one...lol

I've been perusing this forum for a while, and finally found something to comment on.

I don't know if Mahler wrote a bass clarinet part for Scheherazade, but Mark Hindsley did in a band transcription of the piece. I'm pretty confident of this information because I am looking at the music now - one of the community bands I play bass clarinet in is playing it next weekend.

GeorgeL,
What AZ band do you play in? I play in the Arizona Wind Symphony (Bill Richardson, out of Corona del Sol). We're looking at some of the Hindsley transcriptions for possible programming in the future. Is this one any good?

Pat

Scheherazade is being played by the Arizona Symphonic Winds in Tucson.
(http://www.azsymwinds.org/Default.aspx. Their web page has not been updated to show the concert.)

I don't feel qualified to comment as to how good it is. But I do have a CD of the piece by the Philadelphia Orchestra, and my bass clarinet part tracks measure-for-measure with the recording. The arrangment does call for a harp - which we do not have, but that part is covered by several flutes.

When and where is your concert to be performed?

3 p.m. Sunday at Rincon High School Auditorium, 421 N. Arcadia Ave. That's at the SE corner of N Swan and E 5th St.

There was a short article about the concert in today's Tucson paper:

George, my old UW-Madsion clarinet professor, Glenn Bowen, lives in Tucson and I'm wondering if he plays with your wind group. When he visits here in the summer, he plays a few concerts with our Capitol City Band.
