What's out there? I've heard of a Schubert piece for soprano and clarinet, but not much else.

There is a really beautiful piece by Vaugn-Williams; I forget the title. I think it has two movements with bass clarinet. Larry Combs has a recording.

There is also a work by Crussel with a title something like "on the Beautious Ganges...." That's not it but its close. Nice piece though.

Sphor also wrote a nice set of songs for this combo. Its title is Six German Songs.

Try having a look at the Spohr pieces, they are like miny clarinet concertos.
There is quite alot out there, the famous ones that spring to mid are the Spohr, Schubert but if I remember right there is a concert aria for soprano, clarinet and orchestra by Mayerbeer (check spelling), did a premier some years ago of a piece for soprano, clt and piano by the Austrailian composer John Carmichael.
Can't think of any more as it's 3am and should really be asleep.

Arrangements of Mozart's arias, "Parto, parto" and "Non piu di fiore" are also available. The first was originally written with basset clarinet obligato, the second with basset horn. Both from the opera, La clemenza di Tito.

In addtion:

Neukomm: "Poor Adele"
Kraussold: "Abschied im Herbst"
Herrmann: "Erfuellung," "Du bist wie eine Blume," "Ich denke deine"
Gounod: "Serenede - Berceuse"
Lloyd: "Annette"
Sjoergen: "Der Mond schon wandelt am Himmelszelt"
Wolf: "Gesagn Weylas"

These were all recorded by Kloecker, Fischer-Dieskau, Hoell on the Album, Lieder der Romantik (Orfeo C153 861 A)

I like the Two Songs by Franz Lachner: Frauen Liebe und Leben (op. 82) and Lyrisches Intermezzo. Both are for clarinet, soprano and piano.

For something a bit unusual try the R. Vaughan Williams Three Vocalises. It is a duet for soprano voice and Bb (or C) clarinet (no piano) ...GBK

There's quite a rich and varied repertoire for that combination.

Check here for many:

A search of the BB will also yield some more items.

The Vaughan Williams "Vocalise" is for soprano and Bb clarinet.
There is also the Vaughan Williams "Ten Blake Songs" for voice and oboe (sometimes played on clarinet).

So no one has named the Brahms Leider, Op. 91. Very beautiful piece.

Some works not in the composition list from three LP's I happened to have out:

Adams (Byron), Nightingales (w/cello, as well)
Schubert, Romanze from Die Verschworenen
Lauridsen, Be Still My Soul, Be Still
McCabe, Three Folk Songs

Meyerbeer has two works in the composition list: "Hirtenlied" and "The Amours of Teolinda," a scenic cantata for soprano, clarinet, chorus and orchestra -- it runs around 35 minutes!

Three that haven't been mentioned (they are all available through the link to Luyben's though). I've played or heard these, and they are enjoyable.

Gordon Jacob: Three Songs for Soprano Voice and Clarinet
Dominick Argento: To Be Sung upon the Water (Soprano, Clarinet(and Bass) and Piano)
W.A. Mozart: Parto! Ma tu ben mio.

A few that I would be interested to hear or play that are listed in the Luyben's catalog include the Bergsma Four Songs, the Butterworth Night Songs, and Hovhaness Saturn.

though not exactly what Ken was looking for, my all time favorites for voice(s) and clarinet obligatto:

Mozart, "6 Notturni"

They are scored for two female and one male singers with at trio of clarinets/basset horns.
