I don't really understand why the soloist has the rights over this piece. I can understand why perhaps John Williams doesn't want it published, maybe he thinks that it doesn't compare to his other concertos, like the bassoon or tuba.
I've premiered concertos and in fact doing a world premier next year, just because i've played them and that my name maybe on the title page doesn't give me sole performing rights.
Why can't other players around the world be able to have a crack at this piece?
