 Charles Bay .66 Barral

Anybody here play on the Charles Bay .66 Barral? It's made out of some material, maybe rubber or something. Well I'd like your two cents about it if you play on one. Thanks.

I play with a Bay .66 barrel on my A clarinet. When I bought the clarinet from Mr. Bay, he gave me several barrels to try, including this one. That was the one I picked as having the sound I wanted and the intonation. It is made out of delrin, which I think is a type of plastic. Mine is quite light weight and has an interesting shape....kind of a wood turning type of shape. I get lots of comments about it since it looks different. At one point I tried out more barrels. I tried a Ridenour and a Chadish, and neither was better with the intonation than the Bay.

As always, it is what works for you that is the most important.
