RE: Improving intonation of B flat

This discussion about Bb (A key plus register key) was very timely. I have a Selmer Signature and I love it, but the Bb is weak. It even sometimes sounds "watery" but I can't figure out where moisture would build up for this note. (I have looked down the instrument and the register key is a raised cylinder inside so I don't see how moisture could roll into it. And I don't know what to do about it if it did--no way to get to it.) Anyway, I was experimenting and found a very pretty Bb by using the A key plus the right index finger side key (second from the top.) I can't use it in fast sections, but it sounds fine if I need to play a long note. What a strange little note the Bb is. Michael
