an oboist friend of mine told me minnesota canceled an oboe audition scheduled for january due to an orchestra hiring freeze during contract negotiations. is the assistant principal/eb clarinet audition still on for late november, as far as people who are taking it know? just curious.

Minnesota Orchestra hiring ''freeze'' scheduled for January. This is a pun right?

 naw
 just telegraphic style.

 Ok...here goes

Along with the cold and chill of Minnesota
a budget freeze in the symphony doth the directors create
Neither bass clarinet nor oboe audition
They will alas not happen in that state.

Oh the Eefer will be featured
 with the second clarinet position
only three clarinets will be present
 after the final audition

 Who will win...
 I do not know
 The best and brightest
 they will blow

 When the dust is settled
 and the winner declared
It is always the arts that suffer
 when money is spared

 Sports will survive
 we can be assured
 but when artistry is involved
 we are just lowly whores

 So pimp for the arts
 and tell you friends
 we need more cash
 so orchestras we can mend.

 Happy now??

Perhaps I should explain: where I live, "you go, girl" has been (sort of) adopted by both sexes as a phrase of encouragement.
Am I off the hook now?
Is this in any way clarinet-related?
Is clarinet in any way reality-related?

It's so cold in north Minnesota.
I can't even start my Toyota.
 With a hiring freeze,
 The musicians they'll squeeze.
And relocate in North Dakota ...GBK

I wanted to play with Burt Hara,
But I'll have to wait for tomorra.
 Staffing decisions are on hold
While they sit in the cold
'Cause there is no more money to borra.

Hmm....the number of clar. players in training =The Avagadro number.
The number of clar. positions available= An Angstrom unit, now less one.
The number of days below freezing in the available city = immaterial.
 CPW who cares.
 (GBK still priceless.)

The Krel are still pure ID
