Is the J.W. York eb clarinet a good brand of clarinet. I found one used for 41.00. It is 50 years old and has been re-done. The pads and cork hvae ben renewed and adjusted. Is this a good deal or is to old to bother with.????????????????????

Might be if you can play it first ... the brand isn't well known or desirable, but once in a while oddball gems pop up ... see http://test.woodwind.org/clarinet/BBoard/read.html?f=1&i=53677&t=53677 for a history of the company.
