Hello,
Weril clarinets are not bad instruments, but from the contacts i have had with the company, and the brochures i have, they do not claim to make any instrument above a beginning quality level. They make a large range, especially in the C and Eb lines, and because of that they have some popularity due to the affordability of these instruments. From what I have heard about them, and from the few examples that i have seen from them, they only make beginning level plastic instruments that aren't up to the same level of quality of the big 4 student horns, or the student horns from some of the smaller, but well respected brands (i.e. Hanson, Amati etc.) I have a CD of Weril artists that a good friend of mine in Brazil sent to me, but they do not have any clarinet music on it, just saxophone and brass (i have not seen, but they claim to produce upper level saxophones and brass winds). They do have a website that describe all their models in some level of detail, and in the US they are distributed (just the brass winds i believe?) by DEG. The CD isn't bad.
Best,
Graham
