Can anybody coment about their quality.
They are sold in Mexico as intermediate models together with vito and yamahas and they make a C-clarient in albert fingering which I find attractive and competitively priced.
clarinetistas brasileros... alguma opinião ou comentários?

Hello,
Weril clarinets are not bad instruments, but from the contacts i have had with the company, and the brochures i have, they do not claim to make any instrument above a beginning quality level. They make a large range, especially in the C and Eb lines, and because of that they have some popularity due to the affordability of these instruments. From what I have heard about them, and from the few examples that i have seen from them, they only make beginning level plastic instruments that aren't up to the same level of quality of the big 4 student horns, or the student horns from some of the smaller, but well respected brands (i.e. Hanson, Amati etc.) I have a CD of Weril artists that a good friend of mine in Brazil sent to me, but they do not have any clarinet music on it, just saxophone and brass (i have not seen, but they claim to produce upper level saxophones and brass winds). They do have a website that describe all their models in some level of detail, and in the US they are distributed (just the brass winds i believe?) by DEG. The CD isn't bad.
Best,
Graham

DEG does not handle the "C" only Eb and Bb. They refer you to your "local" dealer for prices. If I had one maybe he's out combining corn right now.

I have a Weril C clarinet that i picked up in Brazil a few years ago, and I've used it professionally. It's an amazing instrument for the price. It's Boehm system, ABS plastic, with silver plated keys and an alternate ab/eb key. My only complaint is that it plays a touch on the sharp side. I'm planning on trying some different barrels to see if I can fix that. In my research of Weril, i've only seen Boehm system instruments. I don't think they make any Alberts, unless that's something new. Hope that helps.

The only german system they make is for a C clarinet (I wonder if its for folk musicians), the B110.
I saw it at their website (www.weril.com.br -> produtos -> clarinetas -> B110) and seems to cost about $150USD or so in Brazil.
Their website description is:
made of ABS
german system
stainless steel screws
Rico Royal mouth piece
Ni-plated keys
hard wood case.
Amati does not make a C clarinet in german fingering and most of the ones I can find are top of the line german handmade instruments. I'm open to other options as well, I'm looking for a german system C clarinet for beginers but with good enough quality so I don't have to fight it.
