I know that there was thread started regarding this system at the end of 2003, but I wanted to put my 2cents in about this system and the original was sooooo looooong......
I've had this system for about 1 month now, but just pulled out the DVD last night to take a look at it.
I cannot say enough about it. Even if you don't know ANYTHING about reeds, clarinets, etc., you will be able to understand. I made my husband watch it and he, "got it" even though he has absolutely no experience with music (couldn't tell a quarter note from an eighth) and has no experience with any instruments ("whisper key, register key", he said, "what's that?"), much less reeds (he now knows what a vamp is...I'm so proud).
At any rate, I think that paying the extra for the DVD is worth it.
And, I wanted to ask anyone out there if they knew exactly what pieces of music he is playing on the DVD. I think one of them was a Mozart piece, but I am not familiar with the others. Perhaps, because he didn't list them, they are his own writings? Does anyone know?

Just got my ATG system and spent a hour watching the DVD, then finishing a bunch of so-so reeds. I have to say that in very little time I was able to get half a dozen excellent playing reeds. Even made it (relatively ) easy to reach altissimo B and C which have always been a problem on my relatively soft 2-1/2 Vandoren Blue boxers. Although some might say it was expensive for what you get, the results seemed worth it to me. Will work some alto and tenor sax reeds at the next session, will advise results then.

ATG system sounds good, but what about The Reed Wizard? Which is the better of the two? Why?
