I tried searching on this topic but mostly I found stuff on Evette Shaefer clarinets, but my questions are:
Are Evette Shaefer Chedevilles held in high regard compared to other Chedeville blanks (Charles Chedeville, A. Lelandais, Bettoney, early Buffet Chedes, etc.)?
Did someone in particular (mr. evette or mr. shaefer, perhaps) put the facings on them? When were they produced? Were they the stock mouthpieces with the Evette Shaefer clarinets?
Currently on ebay there is an evette shaefer (chedeville) mouthpiece and I'm just wondering why is it so cheap compared to other chedevilles?

This topic is frequently discussed, and there are many good threads in the archives about the (1 line up/3 lines down) Buffet C , Buffet C*, Buffet C Crown, etc... with the answers you are looking for.
Here is one thread that may answer most of your questions:

The best words to use in this search would be "buffet chedeville" (no quotes) ...GBK

Older (1 line up/3 lines down) Buffet, Evette and Evette & Schaeffer mouthpieces were made from good material. Facings generally were bad (Buffet's trademark). Some of mouthpieces were finished incorrect and not worth working on. Usually it would take a lot of work and experience to turn them into something good.
