I was wondering if there is a college with a highly regarded Clarinet professor. Im thinking of going to UNT, (texas). Is there a certain University where many clarinetist go to?

A list of prominent clarinet teachers (extensive but by no means complete) is at http://www.woodwind.org/clarinet/Study/Teachers.html
James Gillespie at UNT is, by all accounts, a world-class clarinet teacher, and UNT is of course a world-class music school. He is both an artist and clinician for Leblanc and the editor of The Clarinet magazine, positions you don't get without knowing a thing or three about the ol' blackstick. I'm sure the other clarinet faculty members at UNT are fabulous as well.a

Does anyone know what model clarinet Mr. Gillespie plays on? Although he is listed as a Leblanc Artist on the site, unlike the other artists his instrument of choice isn't listed. From the picture it looks like he plays either a Rossi, Buffet Elite, or Orsi because of the wooden tenon rings. Its black and white and not close enough for me to tell what particular brand it is, so I only have the characteristics like this to go off of.
