Interesting use of the o-ring as a joint spacer... what is the size of it?

I was imagining taking the Chudnow idea of transfering more energy into the body of the instrument via staple o-rings and then continuing from joint to joint in similar fashion. All this in case it somehow augments the sound.

I do recall from an acoustical physics class the argument that introducing extra energy into vibrations in the body of an instrument had no significant impact on the perceived sound by listeners and no measurable difference when the instruments were recorded with and without the enhanced vibrations.

Trumpets and flutes in the cases I recall, since it was easy to make their body vibrate mechanially.

This would be a fun experiment gien the proper equipment and perhap thesis motivation for someone.
