Re: study books for intermediate oboists?

I've found the Rubank/Voxman Selected Studies for Sax to be in the right range and very useful for the student at about that level. Somewhat easier but still challenging for students who are just starting etudes is the Hinke Elementary method for Oboe which is in major and relative minor keys, each one about 1/2 page and not as intimidating as a full page of Ferling. A newer book by Bordogni Melodious Etudes have a variety of keys also . Melodious Etudes by Hite are also a possibility. Lois Barton
