"I played my oboe a few times today; when I'm not playing it I just put it on my oboe stand instead of putting it away."
How long do you leave it on its stand in between playing?
Always put your oboe back in its case after playing - it's the safest place for it to be and gives the tenon corks time to recover (provided your tenon covers are a loose fit which they should be), as well as removign all the moisture that has collected in the sockets. That's the most likely reason for the joints sticking as the moisture that has collected in the sockets during playing has swollen the wood causing the joints to bind.
Never leave it out on a stand for longer than you need to as that will make the joints either stick (if they're unlined) or cause the tenon corks to compress making the joints loose, and you don't want loose joints - especially the middle joint as that'll cause all manner of trouble.
