Playing the first clarinet part, it seems to me that in the first movement and others that are similar, it is near impossible to have enough breath to play all the notes. I can see gasping a breath after some of the eighth notes, but it's pretty difficult. I am referring to the solo passages at A and at C. Advice, anyone?

I've played this piece a lot. It's really great! For some strange reason it's one of my favorite pieces to play. I look forward to playing it with varies orchestras.
Before the first solo starts, if you can't make it through the solo, leave out the 4th beat before the solo, then take air to get through it. Same with the second solo. Since the whole orchestra is playing just before the clarinet solos that one beat before the solos won't be missed. Is there an assistant first clarinetist? If so don't play the whole measure before the solos, because the assistant first player can and should cover it. You should have plenty of air to get you through the solos.

Yes, for some players it is a problem but for many it's not. If you need a quick breath the place to grab one is after the last high C 8th note five before letter B. You can grab a quick short breath to get you to the end without notice. Bobs suggestion of leaving out the last tutti note is a good idea as well. Make sure you take a deep low breath in any case.
