HI,
Basically my lips are really swollen recentley and i do not know why, its not a reaction to the reed or anything like that, they're just slighlty swollen, I dont do that much practice, only 3-4 hours a day and i dont bite excessively. i was wondering if anyone knew of any really good lip balms to use or anything along those lines??.....

I suggest you use something like Anbesol. I use it after every session. It's an oral anesthetic but I believe it is also acts as an antiseptic. Or you could use Camphor Phenol. I usually use the Anbesol on the inside and outside of my lower lip and often apply the Camphor to the outside as well. You might have an infection or just overuse. ESP www.peabody.jhu.edu/457

Even though you say "Basically my lips are really swollen ...its not a reaction to the reed or anything like that, they're just slighlty swollen" you seem unclear just how swollen your lips truly are. I agree with the recommendations above, but suggest that you see a doctor soon if what you try doesn't restore your comfort and appearance. You may have an allergy to something like food, toothpaste, coffee, tea, or after shave lotion. And allergy is like water, in the sense that where it appears does not tell one where or how it originated or otherwise may appear. A rash on the skin, for example, may also erupt internally and cause breathing difficulty.
