The doctor's student clarinet is indeed a nice instrument and I must add my bravos to the pack after play-testing one. There are many nice things about it. The first thing I noticed was how light and compact the whole package was in the case. Then there's the Gennusa mouthpiece and the BG style ligature and Moennig style barrel that come standard. Those are 3 things that most teachers swap out on standard student instruments. This, I might add, to the shock and horror of most parents who believed they purchased mouthpieces, ligatures and tuning barrels with the instrument.
The instrument has a very nice tone and is quite flexible. By far it is the best student instrument I've ever tried.
The power barrel is a hit with my community band section. I had to ask for it back before rehearsal last night. I've asked The Doc about getting some more so they can have their own. Everyone needs one of these. I played it on my Leblanc Concerto, have tested it on the Buffet R-13 and have to say--it's a keeper. It's great on the Forte as well.
Bottom line...Bravo Doc!!!
