 Storing processed cane
Author: CMW

I found a variety of processed cane that I really like, so I purchased about 200 pieces for future use. I know that if I store it correctly, it might be even better down the road.

Is there a preferred method for storing processed cane? Should it be placed in an airtight container, or should it be left exposed to the air? Should it be kept with constant humidification? Or maybe with some silica gel packs?

What kind of changes should I expect if the cane is aged properly (or improperly)? Could there be changes in cane density or texture? How about changes to the cane diameter/opening - would the arch of the cane bow or flatten out if improperly stored?

I would appreciate any input regarding the above.

Thanks

Christine
