 Good general oboe

I'm 11, about to turn 12 and started playing oboe this year. I use a free plastic oboe that I got from the school and I don't quite like the tone of it. Although my tone is excellent (compared to my fellow oboist friend), it still sounds a bit ducky. I have used a few store-bought reeds, I bought a lesher and a Jones as my first 2 reeds to try them out. The Jones was fine, the lesher wouldn't speak AT ALL. So I stopped buying leshers, even though that reed I got was probably defective. I used Jones for a few months and I started scraping it with a razor blade. I just randomly scraped it, taking some precautions. Such as, not scraping the backbone, scrape the...if the reed is to..... Stuff like that. After that, I started buying reeds from an online shop called The Reedmaker (www.reedmaker.com). So, my tone is probably at it's best it can be with the oboe. I have a Selmer oboe, I'm not sure which model. So anyway, lets get to the point. I want a good general oboe for my playing needs. I'm too lazy to research this because I don't understand many of the terminology. A general, and good oboe, thats what I need. A general in headphones and earphones is the Klipsch S4i. A general in phones is the iPhone or Samsung Galaxy II. A general in laptops is the MacBook Pro (air) or the HP Folio 13. General camera, Canon Powershot S95. A general camcorder, Sony Handycam HDR-CX130. A general tablet, iPad. General desktop, iMac. I gave many examples so that I covered most people's interests of technology. I don't really have a budget as my parents don't really mind about price. I want a good one that will last me however long a good oboe should last.
