I would like to experiment with making reed cases, firstly as a project for myself (I am a crafty soul who loves to work with my hands, and clearly has too much time on my hands at the moment!) and possibly to sell when I go back to Oz as we have little access to anything like that unless it's online (and then we pay bucketloads in shipping!)
I've worked with foam in the past for instrument cases, so I will probably go that way, but what can I use for the actual case?
I've seen the cigarette cases, and there are plenty of Chinese made ones which go for pretty cheap and can be ordered in bulk. But I estimate that only 3-4 reeds could fit in a container of this size, what about containers for larger numbers of reeds? And does anyone know of an approximate width of container to number reeds ratio? Or the minimum depth of a case needed to accommodate reeds?
I know I'm being specific, but I am constantly amazed by the span of knowledge on this site, so here's hoping!
