I wasn't sure what to title the discussion. RobinDesHautbois helped me realize that I needed to take a step back from my audition piece (the first movement of Mozart's Oboe Quartet) and think about what it meant to me.
I basically came up with the story of this group of children playing in a field. After the second repeat of the first section. A little girl (the one the oboe represents) gets separated from the group (in the piece this is where it plays the Dm scale up to high D, then the leaps down). She then finds the group again and they continue playing.
So I'm wondering, what do you think/feel/visualize when you listen to one of your favorite pieces?
