This Summer, I purchased a Marigaux EH, about 50 years old but in almost unplayed condition. I've always wanted one! However, now that I've spent some time with it, I'm finding that even with a neck strap, The weight combined with the stretch to my fingers is starting to be a problem, both with facility of playing and discomfort. I think I'd like to get a floor support for it, but the only one I've located is the one from Forrests, which doesn't work with my horn. I've considered the PHRED but I'd prefer the floor support. I may try to rig up something, but I'd rather find something already made. Does anyone have any ideas? I'd like to get going on playing it but am trying to avoid injury to my hand. I'm 52 and hope to have many years of oboe and Eh playing ahead of me.
Thanks for any help!
Ann
