Years ago I purchased 56.5 and 55.5 mm Backun Grenadilla Fatboy barrels for my (2006 original series) Yamaha CSGs. As my clarinets have aged, I find that the 56.5 won't play at A440 and the 55.5 sometimes can't quite make it either.

Therefore, I'm looking for anyone who might have, and wish to sell a 54mm Grenadilla CSG Backun Fatboy barrel. I might also be interested in a 54mm Cocobolo Fatboy barrel as well.

 Thanks!
 Bob Barnhart

 Hey Bob,

Just saw this now. I have a "fat boy" made by Dr. Alan Segal. I think he's since given up on barrels but there may be some floating around out there on eBay. Also on eBay are bunch of decent Chinese barrels that are actually quite good and can be ordered in ANY size you want (54mm is what I order). Of course it took 2 to 3 months to get them (probably shipped on a boat) BEFORE the tariffs! So this may be more just informational rather than helpful.

 Thanks Paul.

I have Backun Lumiere barrels in Grenadilla (54mm) and Cocobolo (54mm) already. These have a nice sound for classical stuff. The Fatboy has a bigger, clearer sound with which I'm already familiar so I was hoping there was a 54mm around. I just heard from a friend that his wife may have one she isn't using, so we'll see.
