This mouthpiece needs no introduction. The Hans Zinner clarinet mouthpiece
blank is the excellence of mouthpiece blanks of the clarinet world. When available decades ago, they were used by internationally renown mouthpiece makers / facers such as Clark Fobes, Brad Behn and Lomax to name a few. Clark Fobes, one such maker, was at the top of the clarinet mouthpiece world.
This mouthpiece is from my Fobes / Zinner collection. Prior to offering for sale I sent it to Clark to be maintained to ensure there were no defects, warpage, imperfections.
Perfect tip, table, rails, and beak with no teeth marks.
It is an excellent example of Clark's CF+ (1.0 tip/17mm face) with concave table having excellent pitch with good highs.
Mouthpiece is stamped 'Zinner Hand Crafted ' and engraved CF+ (Clark's personal facing) and ZE (Zinner ‘E’ blank).
NOTE: The E Model (one line up / one line down) was Zinner’s L’Opera model. It gives a very flexible and liquid tone quality with smooth legato and ease of blowing.
Made from Clark's ' E ' Zinner blank , it is pitched at the more desirable 440 to 442 , depending on bbl length and produces a well-balanced tone with lots of ring and color made from the old HANS ZINNER German rod rubber . These reed friendly sought-after mouthpieces were known for their sound with a warm, balanced tonal core and responsiveness.
When last available, the ZINNER blanks were used by prominent mouthpiece makers such as Clark Fobes (San Francisco model), Brad Behn (Artist series) Lomax (Classic series) and others.
Interestingly, the then selling price for this mp was $350 from each maker.
includes original Fobes case.
$190. + #$12 postage USPS Priority to L8
