The high G clarinet is pitched a semi-tone below the Ab one. It is used in Schrammelmusic - Viennese folk music from the 19th century. They are still made, though usually with the German fingering rather than Boehm.
If I were a millionaire, I'd have one of these. And an Ab. And ....
I've never seen an Ab played - in Scotland, England or elsewhere - but I've seen some clarinet choir pieces with optional Ab parts.
