hi chris, well, i began playin clarinet two and a half years ago, but not exactly callingmyself a prdigy, but ive accomplish alot in two and half years and already have a professional tone. If you want to continue playin for some time, use a wooden horn, a buffet R 11 or 12 and a 5 RV Liar mouthpiece, its great to bring out the sound. Best of luck, mingo
