Hi all,
I have been playing klezmer and balkan music on my Bb Boehm clarinet for a long time and so far never had any interest in using the simple system/albert instruments. But just now I had the opportunity to play an Albert Bb clarinet, with my normal mouthpiece and a very soft reed - great fun!
My question is: does it make sense to play klezmer on a Bb horn?
As far as I can understand the majority of the oldtimers used C or Eb Albert instruments, not Bb. True? Transposing - I.E. playing the same keys I do on my Boehm - seems not really appropriate for the Albert system. Or am I just lazy?![:)](http://test.woodwind.org/clarinet/BBoard/smileys/smilie1.gif)
thanks,
A
