 high notes

i played alto sax ,it's always sharp for me when reaching high notes.but when i played low notes,it doesn't go out of tune.is it because of playing it too loud,or not relax enough?pls help,thanks.

relaxing will make a note go flat. what you are doing is pinching the notes to come out. you can loosen your embouchure to get high notes out, you don't have to be firm enough to pinch the reed to the mouthpiece. play the notes in front of an electronic tuner, and try using your embouchure to lower or raise the pitch. once it's exceptable, try hitting that note in the same pitch over and over. over time you'll be able to hit the notes in tune all the time. hope this helps.

yeh just loosen ur embouchure should flatten the note....

if that doesnt work...
just play them down the octave! ;)
