I received a 3 hole ocarina for a gift, but don't know how to play, and I cannot find instructions. Can anyone help? Thanks,.

With three holes, there are only 8 possible ways of putting your fingers, so it should be a simple task to try each of them and see what note comes out.

True enough, but not being musically incline I have been having a hard time. Would it be best if I just buy a four hole? That was my intention, but a friend learned that I wanted one and gave me this one. I love the sound and would like to learn. I think I could do OK following the music sheets, but haven't found one for 3 hole.

Yes, I own a four hole ocarina and it is much easier to play. I would prefer an eight hole, but four hole is good enough.
