I play the Bb clarinet.There are some high notes that i cannot hit when i go directly on them whit out playing another note but when i got from a lower highyer note it works.Can someone explain this or all it takes is practice?

for high notes come out, you need air speed. fast air is essential. have fast air and a tought embouchure. not tight, or the reed cannot vibrate. work on long tones, they will help your embouchure develope. after time you'll be able to hit higher notes directly. just make sure your embouchure isn't loose or they note will be airy sounding. hope this helps.

it's easier changing embouchure gradually than going straight from one for a low note to a high note it takes more practice to be able to do that, try practicing going up and down octaves, i find that helps
