Hey...i was having a discussion with my old band director, and she was telling a story of how her teacher was tryin to get her to circular breathe, but she had to drink water and breathe in at the same time and choked, and never attempted again. Is there anyother ways to learn how to do that...if so leme know...Thankx

i was told to try it was by blowing bubbles through a straw and breathing in through your nose. it takes alot of practice. that's the way my director showed me how to do it. and just think, you won't choke.

the hardest part to cyclical breathing is getting to blow out once after breathing in. a straw and water is a great way to start, but after you can do that for a good hour or so, try out on the instrument. depending on what instrument you are planning on doing this with there are different perks. a reeded instrument instrument you will have to learn how to blow out wiht your cheeks when you take your quick breath back in while still making the reed vibrate. a flute isn't too difficult, make sure your air stream is still controlled. hope this helps.
