How do you tell what kind of fife you have? Mine is really pretty junky if that helps. You can get them in different keyss, right? Mine is probably about a foot long and a half an inch wide. I have no idea if this helps but I really need to know how to tell what key the fife is in.

As far as I can tell, the key of the fife is the note you get when all six holes are covered.

I'm pretty sure it's in the key of C. you know, concert pitch.

The key of the fife is determined by what note is played when all the holes are covered. I have a Bb fife and I'm not sure what key it's in for concert pitch. It might be Ab. Don't take my word on that though. But yeah, all holes covered.
