 Altissimo Fingering for Tenor
Author: Norm Rose

I have a Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone circa 1970s and can't get a clean G altissimo. I can produce a G using the T 3 and Bb side key. The horn does NOT have a high f# key. I've tried all the suggestions on the site, but with no luck. Does anyone have a similar horn and another suggested fingering? I can play up to a high D on the horn so I don't believe it is my mouthpiece or embouchure.

Thanks

I had a Selmer Tenor and had the same problem. I also had a Martin Tenor prior to owning the Selmer and I had no problem on the Martin, producing a clear high Alt. G After playing the Selmer for a while I was sorry I sold my Martin. I hope that helps. John
